Get to Know and Create Minimum Atmega8/328 and Atmega16 Systems

From the name it can already be guessed, that is, the minimum requirement. 
So to be able to work / program the microcontroller requires at least some of the following things:

1. Supply 

Obviously this must exist! But this means that the microcontroller requires a voltage of 5V, so if the voltage source is above 5V, there needs to be a regulator. The regulatory IC used generally and widely in the market is 7805. 

2. ISP Connector

This connector is the entrance of the program that will be inserted into the microcontroller via USBASP from a computer (Laptop). 

3. Crystal 

Crystal quartz is an external clock source for microcontrollers that is arguably more stable than internal clocks. What's more, there are several range options ranging from 8, 11, 12 to 16MHz.
In addition to crystals, it can also be with RC.  

4. Reset Button

This button is needed to reset the microcontroller, so without the need to disconnect the power supply if we want to restart the program from the beginning or for example if the program encounters an error. 

5. Other periperals

In addition to those mentioned above, if developed, RTC, P10 connectors, serial connectors and various other purposes can also be added.
